John J. "Jack" Glass, Jr.

A resident of the City of Pittsburgh, PA, Jack is a 25 year veteran Rescue Paramedic for the City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services. His current assignment is Rescue Unit 1, located in the Shadyside neighborhood of the city.

Glass has had a long association with the Memorial Service, serving on honor guards and as a program participant prior to commencing his first term on the National EMS Memorial Service Board of Directors. He is responsible for the coordination of the various Honor Guards that attend the annual service.

To keep himself busy, Jack is a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania EMS, Rescue and Fire Instructor. He is also a team member of Pennsylvania Strike Team 1 (urban search and rescue unit), chairman of the Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services Council: Rescue Task Force Committee, a member of the Pro Board of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Fire Service Certification Committee and a volunteer firefighter for the West Homestead Volunteer Fire Department.
